Folklore is really messy ... like all good things

In particular Irish folklore is very hard to dig through hence this resource existing at all ... but you probably came here with some existing knowledge about Ireland or its folklore ... so in the sections below you will find references to the modern pop-culture folklore that attempt to help clarify and point you to the related articles in our codex.

In particular most "modern" Irish folklore is derived from middle age Christian pseudo-History. Like most supplanting history/lore content it does have relatable elements to the underlying source but is its self a fiction and seemingly constructed to remove and replace what came before. A notable effort of this codex is to attempt and detangle that more modern twist from its source for a better and clearer understanding.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kb.heathen.group/old-kb/codex/irish/research/disambiguation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
