Toolkit for Steamworks Legacy & Toolkit for Steamworks 2025 Are both current and up-to-date at the same time, Legacy is for support of Unity 2021 LTS - 2023 The "current" version (named for the current year) is for Unity v6 and later The "current" version will receive yearly maintenance updates on or around 1st Nov each year. These are paid updates, existing users get a steep discount, details described below. Legacy will continue to exist until Unity ends long-term support for the last of their year-named versions (2021, 2022 and or 2023) at which time Legacy will be deprecated and only the "current" version will exist. We have no offical time line for this from Unity.
Heathen's Toolkit for Steamworks Legacy is a fully supported and reliable solution for developers using Unity 2021 LTS through 2023 LTS. Legacy will continue to receive regular updates and support as long as Unity maintains 2023 in LTS. If you own Heathen’s Toolkit for Steamworks 2025, you automatically get access to Legacy at no extra cost.
Toolkit for Steamworks 2025 is designed for Unity 6 & later. Starting with Toolkit for Steamworks 2025, we are moving to a scheduled annual maintenance cycle, released every 1st of November. This predictable cycle ensures we can continue to deliver quality ongoing development, top notched live support and foster the friendly and helpful community we have had for the past decade.
Maintenance Cycle: Each year, the prior version is removed from sale to new users. Existing users retain access and DO NOT -have- to move to the next version. Prior versions will not receive any new patches but will continue to operate as they had. Neither we nore Unity removes your access to anything you own.
Existing Users: Get an 80% discount on the base price of the next version. This maintenance cycle enables us to continue ongoing development, deliver frequent updates, provide top-notch live support and foster a friendly community.
Close to 1st Nov? Purchase with confidence where permitted we extend a grace period making the update free if you purchased recently. For questions reach out on our Discord. How long is the grace period? that isn't entirely under our control so we don't "assure" a range but usually longer than 30 days up to 90 days.
Legacy support: Toolkit for Steamworks Legacy will continue receiving updates and support until Unity ends LTS for its last year-named version (currently 2023).
Legacy to 2025 Update: If you own 2025 you have access to Legacy for free If you own Legacy you can update it to 2025 for the difference in price ($20)
